WHO WE ARE AND WHAT WE DO

 

The Bozrah Volunteer Fire Company (Station 26) is comprised of  volunteer members consisting of Firefighters, Emergency Medical Technicians, Medical Response Technicians, Fire Police, Cadets, Club members and the Ladies Auxiliary. In 2007 we responded to 184 – Emergency Medical Service calls, 32 – Fire calls, 32 – Motor Vehicle Accidents,16 – Mutual Aid Fire calls, 24 – Other (i.e.,Mutual Aid Fire, Stand-By/Covered assignment, Haz-Mat, Service Calls, Co-Investigation), 40 – Mutual Aid Motor Vehicle Accident/EMS for a total of 328 calls.   Our primary coverage area is 20.2 square miles and dispatched by Colchester Emergency Communications.  The surrounding towns which we respond to as mutual aid are Yantic, Franklin, and Lebanon.  Our building was constructed in 1950 and has grown over the years.  The building has always and continues to be completely  maintained  and funded by our members and your donations.  Our apparatus consists of  a Ladder truck, Engine Tanker, Tanker, Rescue, Service Truck,Forestry Truck, Hazmat Trailer and a Marine unit.
