New Ladder Truck for Bozrah

THE BOZRAH VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT has accepted the delivery of a 103-foot Aerial ladder truck from Bulldog Fire Apparatus of Stockhouse Rd. in Bozrah. The truck was built by Kovatch Mobile Equipment Corp. (KME) of Nesquehoning, PA. It replaces a 2003 65-foot American LeFrance ladder truck. The cost of the new truck was $1,335,374. The Fire Department truck committee has spent hundreds of hours on the planning, design and layout for this truck.

The truck is a KME Predator with a 96-inch, 6 person cab. The overall length of the truck is 38 feet, 10 inches, the engine is a 500 horsepower Cummins ISX12. The transmission is a 6 speed Allison 4500EVS, the pump is a Hale Qmax single stage 1750 GPM. The truck carries 650 gallons of water, the aerial ladder is 103 feet with a prepiped master stream nozzle. There are also 129 feet of ground ladders, 500 feet of large diameter hose, 850 feet of preconnected 1 ¾ and 2 ½ inch attack hose and 300 feet of 3-inch hose with Blitz Fire Monitor.
